Day 1885: Pot Roast

I drove over to the other house after the play. It was a long night but the appraiser was coming early and I thought it would be easier than having to head over during rush hour. It’s the last bit of estate type thing I need to do! It’s just for documentation and pricey but I like to check all the boxes.

I had some leftover Singapore noodles for lunch with some leftover chicken mixed in.

I had my button class. Only one more!

For dinner we had pot roast, mash and roasted carrots from the meal prep place.

Day 1884: Leftovers, Leftovers

I did some cleaning and organizing at home that took much longer than expected.

Lulu is still coughing a bit so we got some new longer acting meds for her and the vet wants to do some X-rays next week. I hope she’s okay! She’s been really perky and playful outside of the cough but the cough keeps waking her up at night and we are all tired.

We saw Some Like it Hot tonight at the theatre and it was right at dinner time when we’d have to leave so I ended up having my eggplant leftovers early and then some leftover Chinese food in the afternoon. Matt had lunch at work and then came home early to have a chicken sandwich.

The play was fun (I was a little skeptical!) and I could see where it needed some tweaks but it was cute. The over the head mask was really comfortable. I saw some other maskers too!

Day 1880: Eggplant Parm

Goldbelly had a big seafood sale and we ordered a box with three Cajun meals for 40% off to be delivered today. When I woke up it said there was a mechanical failure in KY and it would be delayed but somehow it was still here at 10 am! Magic! I was expecting to have to open a box of rotten seafood on Monday. None of it was defrosted so I put two in the fridge for this weekend and froze the third.

For lunch we had shrimp salad from the meal prep place and leftover pesto pasta.

I spent most of the day in the yard reading my book and listening to birds. Mitzi stayed by my side all day but all three girls came out to play.

For dinner we tried a new-to-us Italian place and it was good. The antipasto was tasty and the eggplant parm was solid.

Day 1876: Leftovers

I went to Lidl to do a little shop and I had a coupon for $10 off $80 so I was trying to hit that. Somehow it was only $78! I don’t want to complain about food prices but I was surprised. A lot of the fruit was on sale and I only bought fish and shrimp so I guess that was it.

For lunch I had my leftover chicken parm. Matt was going to make himself a grilled cheese but then realized he had finished the bread so had some cheese and crackers and an orange instead. I guess it’s been a bit since we’ve been to Costco to get bread?

I spent most of the afternoon reading in the hammock. The dogs love it when I’m in the yard with them and the neighbor dog kept showing me sticks.

For dinner had leftover Indian food which was good because Matt had his piano lesson.

Day 1873: Steak

Pretty day today but I’m worried about tomorrow’s weather. I’ve had a day trip to a fiber festival and museum planned for months but now it looks like it might be rainy. I’m tired of everything being so weather dependent. It’s too far away to just chance it.

For lunch I had popcorn and Matt had his leftover chicken parm—he had less leftover than I did.

Then for dinner he made steak, corn muffins and broccolini.

Day 1871: Crab Cake

For lunch we had ham and eggs to finish up the rest of the ham.

For dinner we had salad, the rest of the leftover potatoes and crab cakes from the meal prep place. They were pricey but massive!

Matt did a tiny Lidl shop while he was out getting gas. I’m not sure what we are doing this weekend so I didn’t want to stock up too much! There is a festival Saturday but the weather looks sketchy.

I read Care and Feeding in the hammock and a deer came and was just chilling in our yard. Right here in the city!

Day 1869: Stuffed Shrimp

We had the rest of the shrimp and pasta salad for lunch.

The plan was to have some frozen meatballs for dinner but I realized there were only a few in the bag so we picked up some things at the meal prep place.

They had stuffed shrimp which was actually really good! It came with rice and roasted vegetables. I love stuffed shrimp but it’s fiddly and expensive to make.
