Day 1864: Meatloaf

I had my button class. Only two more! This one was so disorganized, she couldn’t find the examples, she keeps using the same white and silver thread doesn’t work and starting over and told us the wrong way to make a button so I had to start over. Oy. I’ve enjoyed making the buttons but the disorganization 16 weeks in is astonishing.

I had a cobbled together mix of leftovers: mash, sausage, zucchini and asparagus for lunch.

For dinner we made meatloaf but the green beans we just bought were bad?? We were planning on getting some prepared meals for tomorrow/Friday anyway so while the meatloaf was in the oven Matt went and got them and some sides to try.

The dogwood bloomed!

Day 1862: Sausage

I had to make a return in the morning and then I stopped by this cute craft store in the community center run by senior citizens.

I had another bagel for lunch then for dinner Matt had turkey and rice and I made some German sausages and leftover mash and we both had asparagus.

I made another tiny chicken.

Day 1861: Turkey

We got bagels for lunch to use some smoked salmon we had. The salmon wasn’t great though! We normally don’t get Acme brand and it was really chewy at parts. The bagels were solid though.

Matt did a little grocery shop because Coke was on a big sale and they had a small turkey so we ended up having that for dinner with mash and zucchini.

Day 1855: Salad

A plant I’ve had for almost five years put out a big leaf today!

We ordered new phones and Matt picked them up this morning and then made us waffles.

I managed to make a few more buttons to get ahead on the independent ones. She sent us a schedule but I’d be surprised if we actually stick to it or get through them in class.

Matt ran to Costco and we had chicken tossed with arugula, tomatoes, onion and the feta and olives leftover from Friday’s app platter. We also finished off the leftover app dips.

Day 1854: Corned Beef

Matt had to work off and on so it was a pretty chill day. We had chicken salad and pasta salad from the Amish market for lunch.

I put up a corned beef in the slow cooker in the morning and then we made sautéed cabbage and mashed potatoes with it for dinner.

Dottie napped on the doughnut.

We got a new bed frame delivered and put that up. It looks good!

Day 1852: Hot Dogs

Kind of a salty day! I realized I didn’t have anything leftover for lunch so I ended up having soup and some chips and salsa then we had a late-ish dinner of hot dogs, chips and broccolini (for health) because it was quick and easy.

Matt went into work super early and put the dogs back to bed as he normally does but somehow we still ended up getting up early. I felt like I lived a whole day before 10 am. I finished my buttons from this week’s class and finished watching Long Bright River.

I looked over my button list again and found 2 more buttons I sent in January she didn’t record so that’s two less I have to do. If she sticks to the schedule she actually put out, I won’t have too too many to do on my own.

We have videos for some and one week I missed a class because they changed the time last minute so I have a video for that. That should be about 8-10 buttons and then I’m still waiting for the videos she said she’d do in March. Which is a lot to make but at least it won’t be me teaching myself from these arcane books.

Day 1851: Steak

I had my button class so I went to the other house and made lunch. I had the last of the ribs chopped up and sautéed it with leftover baked potatoes. I had some pineapple too.

Lots of button making today!

The class is a true wreck but I have learned some things. I had to make this one real quick because she told us at the last minute we had to have it for class to make something with it.

For dinner Matt made steak, broccolini and wild rice pilaf.
