Day 1878: Scallops

For lunch we had Italian sandwiches because we needed things at the Italian store.

They forgot the olive spread on mine! It was still good but my mouth was set for that olive spread. Sometimes we have some here because they sell it in a tub but not today. It really completes the sandwich.

For dinner I made scallops with some pasta and this frozen pesto I had brought at Lidl ages ago. It wasn’t bad! I’m trying to actually use things from the freezer. Lots of pasta left.

Matt had a dentist appointment (they masked!) and later picked up some prepared meals for tomorrow. He got one with salmon and sesame noodles and I remember not liking one of the noodles but I don’t remember it having sesame. If it’s gross, we could have leftover pasta. He meant to grab a salmon and rice dish but somehow didn’t? The place is set up a little odd with similar things stacked near each other and it’s easy to grab the wrong one when you are focused on the dates. The dishes get covered up by the labels.

I finished the Sophie hood I started ages ago! I have a lot of yarn left, I’m not sure why I ordered so much.

Day 1876: Leftovers

I went to Lidl to do a little shop and I had a coupon for $10 off $80 so I was trying to hit that. Somehow it was only $78! I don’t want to complain about food prices but I was surprised. A lot of the fruit was on sale and I only bought fish and shrimp so I guess that was it.

For lunch I had my leftover chicken parm. Matt was going to make himself a grilled cheese but then realized he had finished the bread so had some cheese and crackers and an orange instead. I guess it’s been a bit since we’ve been to Costco to get bread?

I spent most of the afternoon reading in the hammock. The dogs love it when I’m in the yard with them and the neighbor dog kept showing me sticks.

For dinner had leftover Indian food which was good because Matt had his piano lesson.

Day 1875: Mahi Mahi

Matt made pancakes early because I had my guild meeting. He thinks he’s lost the pancake touch. Too much recent waffle making!

I presented about the buttons to the guild and everyone seemed to like it. I think we are going to make buttons together as a group when we have our casual meetings in the summer.

Matt made us Mahi Mahi for dinner with baked potatoes and corn. He also made a sauce but it broke! It was a mixed bag food day.

Day 1873: Steak

Pretty day today but I’m worried about tomorrow’s weather. I’ve had a day trip to a fiber festival and museum planned for months but now it looks like it might be rainy. I’m tired of everything being so weather dependent. It’s too far away to just chance it.

For lunch I had popcorn and Matt had his leftover chicken parm—he had less leftover than I did.

Then for dinner he made steak, corn muffins and broccolini.

Day 1871: Crab Cake

For lunch we had ham and eggs to finish up the rest of the ham.

For dinner we had salad, the rest of the leftover potatoes and crab cakes from the meal prep place. They were pricey but massive!

Matt did a tiny Lidl shop while he was out getting gas. I’m not sure what we are doing this weekend so I didn’t want to stock up too much! There is a festival Saturday but the weather looks sketchy.

I read Care and Feeding in the hammock and a deer came and was just chilling in our yard. Right here in the city!

Day 1866: Soft Crabs

It’s Good Friday so Matt suggested we get fish for lunch since he was off and I thought places would probably have seafood specials. Growing up we’d sometimes get a filet-o-fish from McDonald’s on Good Friday because they’d always be good and fresh.

A new to us place had soft crab sandwiches (my favorite!) as a special and we got them and rockfish bites. So good! We will have to try something else there, the place was busy for a Friday afternoon.

For dinner we had pork with mushrooms and mashed potatoes from the meal prep place and made a tomato salad.
