Day 1967: Beef Stroganoff

I did shop for next week and dropped things off at the other house.

We had sandwiches for lunch and then beef stroganoff from the meal prep place and delicata squash we roasted for dinner. And a brownie.

We watched A Nightmare on Elm Street which I had never seen. I didn’t realize it was about actual nightmares.

The hall pass girl would be a great Halloween costume! I looked her up and it turns out she was a really accomplished stunt double who was active in the union!

We don’t get trick or treaters or have kids so Halloween is pretty anticlimactic.

Day 1695: Pulled Pork

Matt picked up a pork loin during a quick run to Lidl yesterday so I put that up in the slow cooker with some apples and seasoning. The apples practically evaporate. I haven’t made that in long time! We’ve had a lot of issues of buying these big pork cuts and not using them immediately and then when we go to use them, they are spoiled. Even if they are well within the sell by date. As a result, I only get them when we can make them right away and that doesn’t always work out. We have a lot leftover. I am going to freeze some, I think Matt will have some for his lunch tomorrow and we’ll have it again for dinner.

Matt went into work and I had instant jjajangmyeon for lunch.

Day 1693: Leftovers

We took my mom’s sewing machine to the river house. After she died my dad wanted me to take it and we really don’t have any place I can use it here. I’m glad to have it back where it belongs! I sewed a lot as a kid and it’s not my favorite craft but it is handy. It is a super heavy Singer in a cabinet and it was no joke getting it out of the house.

We split a muffaletta for lunch and then when we got back home had all of the Korean and Chinese leftovers from the last few days.

Ginmari reheats surprisingly well in the oven.

Day 1692: Kimbap

We went to a fiber festival in Western Maryland and it was great! So many things for spinners this time. I got some fiber to spin and a new niddy noddy. Matt got an early holiday present so he can try out card weaving.

On the way home we picked up kimbap and a bunch of other food at our favorite Korean take out place. It’s far from us but on the way home. We also stopped at the bakery next door and got castella cake and milk bread.

For dinner we had the rest of the kimbap because it doesn’t last long and burgers.

Day 1691: Kimchi Fried Rice

I had jury duty which wasn’t too bad. I got a good spot in the quiet room. Other people were masking! Most of the staff and quite a few potential jurors.

The parking lot I preordered a spot in was close but the sidewalks were closed so I had an impromptu walk around the city in the morning but got there basically on time. They let us out at 3 pm after only calling one group back. People were cartwheeling out of there!

I didn’t have lunch so I got home and had peanut butter on my favorite apple.

Matt made chicken kimchi fried rice. It was okay but we think we like it better with spam! The chicken was a little samesy.

Day 1690: takeout

Matt made us tuna for lunch last night so we had that. The plan was to make kimchi fried rice for dinner but he got home really late and picked up Chinese food instead.

I have jury duty tomorrow which is unfortunate especially due to masking. Hopefully it will be warm tomorrow at lunch time and I can at least have a snack?

Lots of packages today. I miss being able to get some basic things like dog food at the store in person but places don’t carry things like they used to.

The produce delivery was massive. Looking forward to having some apples. Maybe I will even bake??

Day 1689: Pot Roast

We had spinach quiche from the meal prep place for lunch. It was really good!

I had a little guild meeting in the morning and then some hammock time.

For dinner we had pot roast, green beans and mashed potatoes from the meal prep place. It was good! I like the ones that are more like complete meals.

I placed a grocery order for tomorrow for some basics, I was going to go in person but they sent me a $30 off delivery coupon so why not?

Day 1688: Spaghetti

My button teacher offered to zoom with me about the latest buttons so I had that at noon. We came up with some ideas to make the class a little smoother that I think will help. I think it’s hard when you know what you are doing to break it down for someone else and we haven’t had enough supplies to practice more on our own.

I’m doing the classes at the other house where I have more room and better light.

I stopped at Costco on the way because Matt was out of honey. I was hoping they’d have sandwiches for my lunch but they didn’t. I did get some vanilla paste and parchment paper. And a chicken. A few basic things like that were on sale even though we are between the sale circulars.

I ended up having English muffins and chicken for lunch.

For dinner I added some diced tomatoes to the leftover spaghetti and we had that. Easy peasy!
