Really lovely weather today! Got some reading done on the hammock. Mitzi loves it when I am in the yard with her and was by my side all day.
For lunch we had our leftover Filipino takeout and for dinner leftover pizza. There is still some pizza left! We really over ordered but at least I won’t have to think about lunch tomorrow.
I had some pandan cake we bought yesterday for dessert. I wasn’t sure if it would hold up but it did.

I’ve noticed an uptick in companies not emailing me when an item ships and it either just arrives or I only know it’s shipped because I signed up for the UPS tracking service notifications. These aren’t rinky dink stores either and it has happened more than once with a preordered or backordered item so I had no idea when it would ship.
The plan was to go to the beach today but the high was only like 72 so we went to Western Md instead. We got lunch at this Vietnamese place and had a pork bánh mì and Matt got some bún that had pork and shrimp. It was good! I wish we had it at home.

We picked up some pandan pasties at the Filipino bakery nearby and went to a yarn store.
Then when we were leaving, we saw a sign for antiques but it was actually an import store/industrial salvage type place and I got a really fun chest for my button supplies and some giant weaving mill bobbins and a printing plate.
Matt ended up dropping off the chest and our old tv at the river house. My button making classes start this week and I want to do them there since they are virtual the house has really good light.
On his way back he got us Mexican food, he got the green enchiladas and I had enfrijoladas.
I did more on the scarf we started in my class yesterday! I made some minor mistakes but it looks good and is working.
Today was kind of a junk food day! I picked up a doughnut (sugar twist) on my way to my knitting class in the morning with some cold brew I made at home.
The class was great! I was pleasantly surprised honestly! I haven’t had much luck lately but the women were all nice and we had a great color coded pattern.
Then I got back and had lunch of a chicken sandwich around 2:45 pm. Matt was at the river house mowing and did the same thing.
For dinner we over ordered Baltimore style pizza and tried a new shrimp with vodka sauce one that was really good.

Another chicken sandwich for our lunch. I also tried the Herr’s Ravioli Marinara chips and they freakishly did taste like that!
I spent most of the day putting together a tv stand from IKEA that I think had the worst pictures yet. It should have been so easy but they wouldn’t show all of the parts and they were all basically identical except for the holes/tabs. The markings wouldn’t be pictured in one page but would be pages later after it already fit together fine but apparently backwards.
It was packed really nicely but there were also a lot of dents in internal spaces.
At least it’s together now! I set up the new tv and the old one will go to the river.
For dinner we got pancit, lumpia and buko pandan which was a little different? I don’t think they used sago.

For lunch I had a chicken sandwich. Matt went into work and got something from a soul food food truck.
Dinner was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans from the meal prep place. It was good but they started giving you one super thick slice instead of two thinner ones.
I do feel like we need to start cooking again but I feel like things still haven’t settled down.
I did manage to get some knitting done and practice spinning because I’m hosting a spinning event later in the month.
I did an Aldi shop in the morning to help stock the river house and get some staples for home. Then I dropped that off and some items that needed to go there and stopped at Costco on my way back.
For lunch we had a crab corn quiche from the meal prep place. It was really good! Sometimes quiche doesn’t reheat well but this did.

Then I took a nap in the hammock with my noise blocking headphones.
For dinner I had eggplant rollatini from the same place and some Costco bread. I like that they switched to one two-pound loaf instead of two one-pound, you get better slices that way.
Matt had their bang bang salmon and rice and added some broccoli. I like their meals but I find it odd that some of them aren’t complete meals. How hard would it be to add some veg to that rice? Some are but not all.
Covid and flu shot this morning! My arm is so sore.
I made a pulled pork grilled cheese out of my leftovers for lunch.
For dinner Matt went to the meal prep place and got a few meals. We had beef stroganoff and noodles and made corn on the side.
It was ugly but tasty!

Had sandwiches for lunch then sautéed some cod, tomatoes and onions together and had that with our peas and rice/cabbage leftovers.

I defrosted some pork chops. We will see if they are okay tomorrow. We’ve had so many power outages in August I’m a little nervous but other things in the freezer (ice cream) didn’t seem to have defrosted and refrozen so it might be okay.
Tomorrow I’m scheduled for my Covid and flu shots. So dumb they are putting the Covid shots out now when we’ve had a summer surge for years now but at least it’s something? It does seem like they are slowing admitting that maybe Covid isn’t seasonal or like the flu since they are reinstating free tests in the end of the month but it is pretty grim.
We picked up pulled pork at Jake’s yesterday so we had that for lunch with chips and broccoli slaw at the river house.
We got a cart for a tv at IKEA and put it together. Bizarrely the top is unfinished wood which was not mentioned in the description. There is no good place for a TV so we got one on wheels AV Club style so we can move it around and get it out of the way.
For dinner I had my leftover noodles and Matt had the leftover salmon and potatoes and we both had steamed broccoli.
Picked up some tomatoes and corn at a farm stand.
