Day 1621: Lobster Rolls

For lunch I just had some soup while I waited for my cake delivery. I popped it in the freezer when it arrived, it was hard to tell if it was still frozen without unwrapping it but my birthday isn’t until Monday. It’s from Milk Bar and the cookies and truffles I ordered were totally frozen still so I’m thinking the cake would be? Their email today about the same cake being retired soon said they can be frozen up to a month and the website FAQ says two weeks so I’m assuming they are expecting at the very least you can freeze it when it arrives. It was a great deal, there was a bundle discount and then a good “secret” sale going on.

We ordered a half price lobster roll kit from Goldbelly so we made that for tonight. We had some Guinness chili chips I found at the store and a tomato-arugula salad with them. I had bought corn but Matt had issues browning the rolls and we forgot to put it up. Luckily we had some leftover tomatoes and arugula so he made a quick vinaigrette.

It’s the first night of our “vacation” but we didn’t really make plans because our dads were sick and then died and then everything was booked so we are hopefully doing some day trips if the weather is nice! The worse part of these Covid times is everything is so weather dependent. Can’t eat outside if it’s raining and we eventually do need to eat if we are away from home for too long.
