Day 1635: Curry Shrimp

I picked up some art from an estate auction this morning. I would have wanted it anyway but finding comps for about $850 wasn’t bad!

I had leftover chaat for lunch.

Matt worked late and got us Caribbean food from a newish place in the neighborhood. It was really good (cabbage! peas and rice!) but I think they used fresh turmeric because my mouth went numb.

Day 1634: Lamb Chow Mein

I had my leftover carrot Chinese food for lunch. I’m still sad about the noodles. For dinner we got Indo-Chinese. It was good! The plan was to get some meals from the meal prep place but they didn’t have anything left that we liked.

Did more on the shawl and it is more subtle than I expected from the skeins but it’s cute:

Day 1633: Takeout

Had leftover spaghetti for lunch and then Chinese food for dinner. The dish I always get oddly had a ton of carrots in it and it was kind of overwhelmingly carroty. Disappointing! I also got Singapore noodles for planned leftovers but Matt forgot it when he put the rest of the food in the fridge and I had to toss it.

I got a new tv for home so we can take the old one to the river house but it’s too big for our cabinet. The tv itself fit but the leg stuck out. We are really limited to where we can put the tv (literally one place) so that’s a major pain. I ordered a new cabinet (the other one was old and the bottom of the drawer fell out years ago) so hopefully that works. I’m tired of dealing with things.

I did work on my shawl but it wasn’t a great evening.

Day 1632: Hot Dogs

Matt went into the office today and got lunch there and I just had some soup and a few Cheetos.

I have perhaps over extended myself re: fiber arts in September so I started a knitalong a little early so I can make some headway before I take a class to learn a different technique next weekend and start my other course. And then I have more classes the end of the month! It’s like six classes total? Two for my course (plus homework) then three in two days late in the month. Plus one next week. I already did the homework for one of the three classes (start a hat) so I don’t have to worry about that.

I got a migraine right at the end of the work day but we pulled together hot dogs, baked beans and the rest of the corn from the corn stand.

We also tried these snacks from World Market. So good! I’m intrigued by the suggestion to put them on instant noodles. Next time!

Day 1631: Spaghetti

I went to Home Goods today, I think I knew it was a junk shop type place but it was really packed with stuff! Is Kirklands the same? I saw that but after Home Goods I was done.

I didn’t find what I was looking for but I did find a Tupperware container that fits on top of the one I have for my bulk popcorn. I love actual Tupperware! The canister I had didn’t quite fit the whole 12.5 lbs of kernels I buy at once and then I have to put the overflow in random containers. This is exactly the right size.

Stopped at Weis and got a little bit of food. I don’t know what we are doing the rest of the week or the weekend so I didn’t want to do a big shop.

Had leftover tuna for lunch.

For dinner we had the spaghetti special. Lots of leftovers.

A new volunteer plant popped up while we were away!

Day 1629: Catfish

Started the day off with some shrimp salad and fries for lunch. Headed back home and got catfish, cabbage and mac and cheese for dinner—my favorite! It came with fruit punch which I don’t think I’ve had since elementary school.

We wanted to come back today so we can catch up on things tomorrow before the week started, I wish we had managed to do more fun stuff this week but it was relaxing at least.

Day 1628: Salmon

We tried to buy some furniture for the river house at an antique furniture warehouse thinking it would be the smaller size we were looking for and it was filled with the biggest colonial old furniture I’ve ever seen. So strange!

We ended up picking up lunch at a halal place people raved about online that’s about halfway between our house and the river. It was good! Looking forward to trying it again. I got a lamb platter but they also had like subs and things. The reviews were so good on Google I thought they were fake at first but I don’t think they were!

Matt ran out and got some groceries and made coho salmon, baked potatoes and corn for dinner.

Day 1627: Lomo Saltado

We had leftover crabcakes and salads for lunch.

Then we went to a park near the river house that I don’t remember loving before but it was pretty dingy. Lots of things were not open when the website said they would be and there were no lifeguards on duty. We were going to go to the beach we really like but traffic looked really bad so we didn’t.

We did spend some time outside on the new webbed lounge chairs I bought.

For dinner we did Peruvian food and it was good! Had the last of my birthday cake.
