Poor pot roast didn’t get made again. Matt wasn’t feeling great so we dialed back the meals.
I had grilled cheese for lunch on the olive bread with some Chicago mix popcorn (mostly cheese) and he had a turkey sandwich and some yogurt.

He made a tiny run to the regular supermarket and got us a seasoned pork loin and some odds and ends. The pork loin was really salty! Normally we get them at Aldi and they aren’t very salty at all, even if we season them again. We had it with rice sprinkled with Barnacle Foods furikake and broccoli. We have a lot of pork left and I’ll have to think of something to make with it to cut the salt.
Tomorrow my goal is to get to Aldi or Lidl to get at least a few things. It’s awkward to know what to get when Matt isn’t feeling well and wants plain food and he’s off the end of the week and we haven’t made plans yet. Everything is so weather dependent.
We also got a text his dad is in the hospital. He is quite elderly and hasn’t been well. They refuse to take any Covid precautions and they live too far away for a short visit so we haven’t seen them in a while. Having three dogs and no one to watch them since my mom died doesn’t help either! Hopefully he will rebound but it’s hard to tell, he’s been poorly since his last bout with Covid and has had other issues.
