Day 1330: Swiss Chard

Had the rest of the leftover Chinese food for lunch.

I finally stitched together the little lap blanket I made. I think it needs to be just a tiny bit longer. It’s more Lulu sized.

Maybe I will make a few more? I have yarn leftover.

For dinner we made sloppy joes with the ground beef I defrosted and sautéed up the Swiss chard I got last week. That really held up well!

The turkey is defrosting in the fridge now and taking up all the space! Honestly, I don’t feel like cooking or grocery shopping between now and Saturday so we will see. We really don’t have room for much either way and I’m planning to get to Costco Thursday if I can.

Day 1329: Soup

Went to the store to buy crema and banana leaf, only found banana leaf. I spent like $2.39, possibly my lowest grocery shopping trip ever.

Had some canned soup and garlic bread for lunch. Matt got a massive meatball sub and I ate one of the meatballs.

It was warm so I read in the hammock for a while in the afternoon. I feel like I should do something with the pineapple sage that’s still growing. I’m not sure if it will survive the winter out there.

Leftover Chinese food for dinner.

Day 1327: Another Sandwich

We went to the fiber fest today! Matt got a some yarn and I got some spinning extras to make batts with.

It was in upper 70s so we got sandwiches at a deli and ate outside. Beautiful day for a day trip! We would have stayed longer but there was a trick or treat event going on in the downtown area and parking was bonkers.

Mine had sun dried tomato ham!

Matt did some yard work and we ended up getting the further away, better Chinese takeout for dinner. So much leftovers!

Day 1326: Turkey Sandwich

Lulu felt sick in the middle of the night so I went to Lidl to get some chicken and her preferred basmati rice for her meals. I also got some Brussels sprouts and potatoes. Still trying to hold off on a big shop until I finalize the fake Thanksgiving menu.

For lunch we had the rest of the turkey/capicola on sandwiches.

The plan for dinner was some pork chops I defrosted but the chicken took forever to bake and chop (we make batches and freeze it) so we ended up getting take out chicken, fries and cornbread. It’s back on the menu at our local sandwich/pizza shop! It disappeared for a while and I wonder if people complained.

Apple peanut butter snack with my favorite apples!

Day 1325: Kohrabi

Got up late today! For lunch we made turkey-capicola sandwiches with rolls from the Italian market.

Somehow we are out of bread! Everything has been getting moldy lately. I don’t know why, I don’t feel like it’s been especially humid but we had to toss the bread, naan and English muffins. And the milk was spoiled. I am trying not to shop because we are doing fake Thanksgiving next weekend and I’ll have to do a lot of shopping next week and I want the fridge/freezer to be as clear as possible.

For dinner I made pasta with sausage and kohlrabi.

I had a zoom class and Matt had a piano lesson at the same time! The dogs were going nuts for some reason.

Day 1324: Acorn Squash

For lunch I had an apple with peanut butter and some pimento cheese on crackers.

Lots of writing.

We had leftover crab cakes with baked acorn squash (from the volunteer plant in the yard!) with shichimi togarashi over rice with wasabi furikake.

I got the new Britney Spears memoir from the library and whipped through that! She really never had anyone on her side.

Day 1323: Cookies

Spent the day baking cookies and bread from community cookbooks and indexing some books.

I got a big produce delivery I’m looking forward to using!

For lunch I had leftover kimchi fried rice.

For dinner we had steak, leftover potato salad and an apple. I had planned on broccoli but it had gone off. We also tried the bread!
