I had a morning doctor’s appointment with new doctor that went fine but now I have to go back early tomorrow to get the tests done.
Why are front desk people so strange? I feel like you need to choose between a good doctor and good staff, you can’t have both. The doctor’s assistant said she made a placeholder appointment at the lab for the afternoon but it would be quick so they could fit me right away in then the front desk woman acted like I was a lunatic when I repeated this to her. She was rude when I arrived when I asked her which direction my department was in and then where the check in for labs would be tomorrow. Maybe this isn’t the job for you?
I sold some some vintage cups on Etsy so I dropped them off at the post office and then went to Lidl on the way back.
They had a bunch of craft supplies including knitting and crochet tools. I picked up some stoppers, crochet cotton and some tiny double pointed needles.
I haven’t loved most of the meat there but I did get a ton of vegetables, some “lemon plums”, trout, some steaks, “meatball mix” to try, sausage and ravioli. Everything had great expiration dates! One less thing to do this week.
For lunch I made some chili nachos to use up the chili from Thursday and avocado. Matt had yesterday’s leftovers on fresh rice.

For dinner I finally made the sirloin tip roast. It was thin (more like a steak than a roast) and I was worried it wouldn’t cook up well but it was great! I seared it with the stalks from the Vidalia onions I used in the shrimp salad (over 2 weeks ago!! They really held up) and red onion leftover from the nachos. I added some water and spices and cooked it in our new Staub pot for 2 1/2 hrs then added carrots and celery and cooked another 45 minutes or so. It made the whole house smell so good!
Served it with mashed potatoes. We weren’t super hungry so plenty of meat leftover for later in the week! It was nice and lean but it did well braised.
Did a tiny bit of knitting and kept plugging away at my book. I don’t know why my reading has been so slow this month! I’ve been a little busy but I don’t normally read much during the day.
