Day 1064: Costco Tacos

Last night Lulu got us up to go to the bathroom and was clearly sick again. She seems to feel better now that we switched her to chicken and rice for meals. That’s what the vet recommended last time.

Speaking of vets, Dottie was dropped off early this morning to get spayed so hopefully she is okay! Our current vet requires them to spend the night so we will pick her up tomorrow morning. I’m excited to have it done because having an unspayed dog in the city is stressing me out! I have never had to deal with an adult dog who wasn’t spayed before. Lulu was from the SPCA and they spay before adoption and our other (rescued) dogs were all spayed as soon as we could as puppies.

Since Matt could be home with Lulu I went ahead with my plan to go to Costco and then my dad’s house for lunch.

I thought Costco would be bonkers because of the Super Bowl but it was eerily empty. I picked up mostly paper goods and cleaning supplies and a Costco chicken taco kit. Normally I’d get a chicken and bread but Matt had a lot of rotisserie chicken this week for lunches.

I found the best order is to go to Costco then my dad’s for an early lunch so I called him from check out and he picked us up food at this farm grocery store. Years ago it used to just be a chicken farm and we’d buy eggs in a a little store inside someone’s home but now it’s a full deli and little grocery! He got some chicken and I got the TABS sandwich—turkey, avocado, bacon and swiss and it was pretty good! I ate half and had the rest when I got home. Matt had some soup.

Since my mom died I try to go over once a month and help pay bills and this time pick up tax documents so I can do his taxes.

For dinner we had the Costco chicken taco kit but we added onion, garlic and hot peppers when we sautéd the meat. Not bad for $15 but I have never tasted milder salsa.

Matt had to do some work at night and we watched You (why can’t he figure out that there is only one person who makes any sense at all to be the killer??).

I worked on my hat from last night but I noticed a dropped stitch and that we were supposed to be using bulky yarn and not the worsted they told us to buy. I was going to start over but now I wonder if I should start over with different yarn all together?
